When if comes fo the besf, our Indians, WPIAL champs, are No. 1 in the whole USA There aren‘t words enough or pages enough in this yearbook to extol the 1987 Indian football team. The gridders have done more than any- one else ever did to bring wide national attention to North Hills. To have completed an undefeated season and have won the WPIAL championship might have been enough glory but for our Indi- ans, picked the No. 1 team in the country by USA Today, to have maintained that rating through- out a grueling season, was the test of true cham- pions. College coaches have been crowding our halls recruiting Indians. Duane Hitchcock is one Indian the recruiters will have to wait for. Many of the team members are in the class of ‘88, but others, like Duane, will carry on next fall.
