The North High Debate Team 'coached by Mr. lohn Reynolds, was? made up of fourteen North High students, all members of the National Forensic League. There were seven teams of two students each. There were one Varsity, two junior Varsity, and four Novice teams catorgor- ized by their ability, and experience. Bobby socks, ponytails, greased-back hair, and black leather jackets were brought back to life as North High hopped back to the 50's and 60's during Oldies Week. The week got off to a good start with an Oldies Assembly featuring skits, songs, and dances put on by the Pep Squad and the Fine Arts Dept. After school a car rally was held. Tuesday was Surfer Day. A skateboard contest was held at lunch. After school everyone headed for Hermosa for the beach party. They returned for an evening showing of the movie Beach Blanket Bingo . Wednesday featured marshmallow and coke-drinking contests. That night the cafeteria was transformed into the Malt Shop. Other activities in- cluded: a class VW cramming contest, individual limbo and hula-hoop contests, and a raffle. Friday's Sock-Hop was a sell-out success, featuring music by Athena. orth Plays This year the Senior Class presented the play Curious Savage for their class production. It was a delightful comedy, in which an older woman got to know the men- tally disturbed.
