Scholarship Society Mixes Brain To start off the 1973-74 year, the Scholarship Society began its annual membership drive. Soon enough the Society boosted its membership to some 60 odd members, consisting of seniors, juniors, and sophomores, making it one of the larger clubs on the North High Campus. Under the leadership of Club President Carl Ogata, the first major 1st semester activity for 40 club members was a walk Knot drive, to save gasl to South Bay 42 to see American Graffitti . The major 2nd semester activities included a weekend mountain trip to Crestine on March 8,9 and a ban- quet in the spring honoring Gold Seal Bearers in particular, as well as hard working members of the Society. Row 2, Gary Barsley, Brian linuma, Donna Stanton, Kathleen Annes, Phillip Onishi, lanis Lem, lon Kunch, Stewart Condo, Walter Carlini. Their Minds Belong to Ele ELEMENTS CLUB: Row 1, Tommy Kobayashi, Billy Takigawa, Randy Yamanoto, Bill Sakatani, Mitchell Taguchi, Dwayne Kumura, Lee Danbara. Row 2, Mary Nishimoto, Shirley Takigawa, Brian linuma, Scott Avera, Doro- thy Sheaman. Row 3, Don Kojima, Mark Takeyama, joel Lerstad, Tim O'Reilly, Ron Shimizu, Carl Ogata, Dave Atkins, Richard Sakatani, Tom Wolff. The Physiology Club was sponosred by Mr. Keller. During the year the mem- bers studied the function and the use of each organ in the human body. To make their study more interesting and meaningful, they toured hospitals such as South Bay, Kaiser and Little Com- pany of Mary. Some of the events that were more leisurely was a Christmas party, and a pot-luck dinner. ITTGIWTS The Elements Club which was sponsored by Mr. Rein- hartbhad a very good 1973 and 1974 year. They ex- plored scientific experi- ments and demonstrations. They had a Christmas pot luck dinner in which the Chemistry Club was invited. The dinner was a successful event, and everyone had fun. The Elements Club went to local industrial plants to increase their knowledge of element sur- roundings.
