Although primarily concerned with promoting Asi- l an cultures, they were involved in numerous other activites l which included trips to Disneyland and japanese Village. l The funds for these trips were raised through the sale of I candy and fortune cookies. This club works with forei n exchange students and American students a- broad. The members acquired much understanding of other customs and ways of life. The club had a pancake breakfast, potluck dinners, and a going away picnic.

Row 2, Kathy Blair, Donna Smith, Gina Mangiagli, Gerina Sykes, Bonnie Eckroth. The Dance Club was a new club that sprouted up and joined the al- ready established clubs at North High. Mrs. Hewitt taught mem- bers of the club to ex- press themselves in the art of dance. Combin- ing music, rhythms and movement, the mem- bers aquired grace, poise and coordina- tion. Besides learning through practice, the members attended lo- cal dance concerts and workshops. Renaissance Playgoers Live It U In an attempt to recapture the atmosphere of the Renaissance Period, the Renaissance Playgoers, under the enthu- siastic sponsorship of Mrs. Banks, attended several Shakespearean plays at the Ahmanson Theatre, located in the city of Los Angeles. The plays they viewed ranged from the tragedy Romeo and luliet , to the comedy, A Mid- summer Night's Dream.
