Frosh-Soph Track Team Builds Toward Future The big Psych-up before the jump The Frosh-Soph Track Team. The long line-up for the mile. The freshmen came into the wonder world of high school athletics with high hopes. They tried to fulfill some of their dreams by using their talents in running, jumping, or sprint- ing. The sophomores, who had a little more experience, showed it with some im- pressive wins over Rolling Hills and West. V s Run Fast and Work Hard The lV's this year came into the Bay League as one of the most inexperi- enced teams in the league. But with some excellent long distance runners like Ed Chandler and Ken Caswell, North had some good outings against league leading Centennial and Palos Verdes. This year's IV coach was Bud Ross, who was very pleased with the effort put forth on this year's team. They all look forward to next year's chance on Varsity. as A . . The lonnnng run to victory!

Three of these Lettermeng jim Zam- n A 1 M B 1 so so if V Fl barelli, Ed Bowen, and Brandt Humphry were chosen for A Q Qg,Wh w qy-wif' ' PA V A the All-South Bay-Team last year as Juniors. Humphry ,, , g, ,, g,, ll '-c was also chosen 2nd team All-C.l.F. last year. The Saxons g g started the season off right by defeating Bishop Mont- gomery 13-6 and Miraleste 9-4 in the first two rounds of the El Segundo Tourney. Those two wins were good experience for them because most of the team had previously only played l.V. ball. Coach O'Brien feels that his team will break all records for stolen bases at North.
