If you consider Coach Bud Ross had four sopho- mores, Mark Wellborn, Glenn Far- ley, Dave Cernik, and Vic Barbosa. The junior Varsity Team was trying to reach a tie for second place but fell short. They had a very successful season because if you look at the scores of some of the games, they were lost by only 4 or 6 points. .af 'W

Frosh and Soph Look to Future With High Hopes This year's Freshmen and Sophomore basketball teams posted the best overall record of any of the North teams. Under the coaching eye of Barry Gross, the team was led to a second place finish in a really tough Bay League, with Freshman Dave Matson leading the team offensively with a 19.8 points per game average. Second offensively was Sophomore Richard lew with a 12.7 points per game average. Other outstanding players were Mike Haas, Bruce Miller, and Steve Trunkett. The Freshmen came into the wonderful world of High School basketball with high hopes, most of their hopes were fulfilled by placing high in some of the tougher tournaments ofghe year. Some of the Frosh stars were Riley Wilkerson, Mike Komada, Rich Miller, and Gordon Nakagawa. Coach Tierney was very pleased with the performance of the team.
