Basketball Royalty a Week Filled The 1973 Basketball Royalty Week- Jan. 15th-19th — was an unbelievable 5 days. It was a week filled with tears and happiness, of joy and excite- ment, of fun and games. The Court participated in activities which were sponsored by each class. Monday be- gan with a cold start as the girls tried desperately to melt a block of ice by sitting on it. Viv Munguia was the winner with a hot seat. A peanut pushing contest was next on the list and Lori Leong won by a nose. The 3-legged balloon race was won by Julie Cimarusti and Brandt Humphry. I ' ve heard of the cold shoulder but this is ridiculous!!! ■Oooh! That ' s Cold!!!!! Everyone gets ready for the The excitement of being a queen. 26 Maybe Viv Munguia should have worn hot pants!

With Tears, Joy and Excitement The last activity for the week was a hilarious bicycle race. There was also a Mother-Daughter Tea held in honor of the Top 15 during the week. This memorable, fun-filled week commenced with the halftime cer- emonies, where the Queen and Court were crowned by their class ' team captain. They then sat back to enjoy an exciting and victorious basketball game against Torrance High. A dance, held in honor of the Court, followed the game with music provided by the band Freehand , ' ' , V f - % ■Cx It ..V. ■ three-legged balloon race.
