Saxon Band Took Pride in Perfection The extraordinary 1972-73 Marching Saxon Band had a very exciting and successful year. Their activities ranged from half time shows to numerous parades. The band was led by Drum Majorette. Marilyn Hughes. In their clever halftime shows, the Saxons played popular tunes such as Budweiser and Get It On, which stimulated the crowds to sing along. In the parades the Saxons marched the streets of Rose- mead. Hawthorne, Carmarillo, Torrance, and Magic Mountain exhibiting exhuberent showmanship wherever they went. North hosted the second annual Torrance Marching Band Pageant. This serves as a money making project besides providing good enterainment for the crowded stands. Some members of the band also belong to the Pep Band. These members helped to make North ' s pep rallies and assemblies the best ever. The North High Saxon Band really has said it all!!
