Class of Seventy-Three September 17, 1969 — it has been a long tour years since that first day when we walked through the gates of North High. We were the confused, timid faces eying the excitement but also the hearts that longed to be a part of it — yes. we were the Class of 1973. A lot has happened since the beginning — friends made and lost, preparing for the future or just bumming around, sharing, discovering, and experiencing. Nine- teen-seventy-three was truly our year with Home- coming, Basketball Royalty, The Prom, and other senior activities. But with Graduation and Commencement exercises on June 13th, all these moments became memories. We are moving on toward new horizons now, but the road to find out is not ending. Only a part of it has been put away in pictures, scrapbooks and in our minds — the road that passed through these four years. Look out world — here come the Class of 1973! It ' s been a long time comin ' it ' s goln ' to be a long time gone, appears to be a long time, yes, a long, long, long time before the dawn. Turn, turn any corner. hear, you must hear, what the people say. you know there ' s something that ' s going on here. that surely, surely, surely won ' t stand the light of day. and it appears to be a long, such a long. long, long time before the dawn. Speak out. you got to speak out against the madness, you got to speak your mind, if you dare. but don ' t try to get yourself elected. if you do you had better cut your hair, ' cause it appears to be a long time, before the dawn. It ' s been a longtime comin ' it ' s goin ' to be a long time gone. but you know, the darkest hour. is always just before the dawn. and it appears to be a long time, such a long. long, longtime before the dawn. by David Crosby The Senior Section is dedicated to the memory of Beverly Beck, 1955- 1972 A Long Time Coming 147
