Each worker tries to get things together to the best of their extent. Sophomores got an eye and hearing test by the nurse. The curriculum coordinators did an excellent job in supervising the painting of North. The student activities advisor gave a food sugges- tion about the Student Center, and it became a reality by the Student Council. The librarians al- ways keep the library in tip-top shape. Evangeline Crews Home Ec. Cloth. Skills Tailoring Elaine Holmquist Boys ' Food, Home Ec. Stitchery Although its mam concern is with that of preparing girls to be better homemakers. the Homemaking Department, headed by Mrs. Evangeline Crews, also alots for the fact that boys should know some basics too. And this IS probably why the Boys ' Food class has been an overwhelming success. This year there were 4 of these classes for guys, and for girls there were the new Young Decorator and Stitchery classes. The department also sponsored some fun activities including a principals ' luncheon, a faculty tea, a fresh- men mothers tea fashion show, and a nurs- ery school. Joan Fabregue Home Ec. Marr. J.Roeder, and J. Bush. Keeping North Running Smoothly It was the job of the North High service staff to keep The campus spic and span , and the students well fed. They did an admirable job of both. The job of the service staff is more complicated than most students realize. Mamtamence of North ' s many classrooms and readying the facilities for student activities were major tasks. The job of the cafeteria workers was more well known. Certa every student has found himself in the never ending line for peanut butter cookies. While trying to please the students, it was also the task of the cafeteria to provide well balanced meals. i Sen ing the students. Eat It or else ■ 139
