Success in Team Teaching Leads to Expansion This year, 300 students had the privilege of having two teachers for the price of one as a result of social science team teaching. This fabulous deal was found in the World Cultures Discovery and U.S. History courses taught by the odd couples Mr. Essex and Mr. Tabing, Mr. Thomas and Mr. MacArthur, and Mr. Rose and Mr. Malmo. Although some may feel that the purpose of team teach- ing is to the benefit of the teacher (ie. making it easier to teach), it actually does more good to the student. This type of class encourages students to be taught by each other, to be self-disciplined, and to have experiences that will help them to be critical in their decision making. Sem- inars, role-playing, mini lectures, and simulations are regular activities that help achieve these goals. Mr. Malmo conducts a seminar.
