Pep Club Promotes Saxon Pride Consisting of two majorettes, thirteen cheerleaders, flag twirlers, and song queens, the Pep Club worked hard to promote school spirit and represent North High at all places and times. Under the watchful eye of Mrs. Judy Byrd, these girls demonstrated skill and imagination in their various routines. Aside from per- forming at athletic and school events, they also held an ICC Carnival raffle, sponsored an ice cream social, and sold pep ribbons and buttons. Once again, with the help of Mr. Terry Tierney, the North High tennis team tried to unite it ' s members with the other Saxons who enjoy tennis. Saxon net- ters showed spirit as a team both on and off the courts. Their spirit was put to the test many times as several setbacks loomed large, but true to tradition the Saxons came through with flying colors. The Saxon net club participated m the ICC carnival as sponsors of the ever popular Sponge Toss. How many calories of Asian culture food do you want ' r- ICC Jail Birds. ' Crossection of { jf i •; Campus Ideas » ' ' p This year, the Inter Club Council served its job of initiating new organizations to the fullest. During the 1972-73 year, nine new clubs joined the roster and helped to open up new paths of excitement and interest for all Saxons. These included the Asian Cultural. Cartoonists Inc.. Dance, Fishing. Renaissance Playgoers, Semi- Saxon Conductors. Surf, and Volleyball clubs. Sponsored by Miss Mary Montgomery and head- ed by ASB council member Bryn Kingston. ICC was a coming together of a variety of ideas and suggestions for better club activities on and off campus. Among many of the problems tackled by this group were plans for more time allotted for clubs and activity periods, and a tutoring service and group counseling project. The annual ICC Carnival, held m the spring, was one of the council ' s most important projects. This event gave many clubs the chance to earn money by letting each one run a booth. A gift- donation drive for the Boys ' Camp and several fund-raising events were among this year ' s ICC- sponsored activities. I.C.C. ROW l-Laurie Huggard. Richard Romero. Renee Dupont.
