KNORTV: Communication, Education, and Enjoyment The purpose of our club is to give interested students experience in TV production , said sponsor Mr. Koering. This year, in order to a- void confusion with KNHS-FM. the club KNHS-TV was changed to KNOR. Mennbers of KNOR were a busy group and throughout the year they taped home football and basketball games, assemblies and other activi- ties for future viewing. These stu- dents also had the privilege of pro- ducing a Christmas show for the Torrance Instructional TV Station. Other activities included field trips to ABC and NBC studios and a tour of Loyola University ' s Communi- cations Arts Department. Is KNOR doing a talk show?? KNHS: Keep North High Swinging Sponsored by Mr. John Reynolds, KNHS-FM under-went many chang- es and remodeling in order to be a more efficient radio station. Early in the 1972 year, the sta- tion ' s facilities were drastically remodeled and were ready to go at the beginning of the 1973 year. Because of a pre-planned regular schedule, the members were able to be on the air every day for a cer- tain time period. Among many of the new ideas put forth this year was a new kind of programming which included such things as a science fiction called New Dimensions . Another in- novation was an underground show called Radical Rock . Aside from these many new proj- ects, the KNHS members continued to provide sports coverage and music to eat by. Ski Club Sweeps the Slopes : ' 53,«1 The Ski Club was new on campus this year. It was formed as a direct result of the growing interest stu- dents are taking the sport. The club was composed of nearly fifty people who enjoyed the snowy slopes together. Most of the club ' s trips were to the Mammouth area in the High Si- erras. Members went up on a char- tered bus on Friday nights and re- turned on Sunday evening. This gave them all day Saturday free on the slopes. Accomodations were a dormitory type arrangement, which was great for meeting other skiers. The club is looking forward to a good year again in 1973-1974, and hopes to get even more stu- dents interested in skiing. ROW 1: Suzy Westbrook. Cindy Kramz, Linda Hayashi. Judy Jones.
