Julians and Valiants Under the guidance of Mrs. Doris Schier, the Julians and Valiants strove to serve the school and community to the upmost of their abilities. Among their many activities were included to act as guides at the PTA Open House, to act as helpers to incoming students, and holding a party in October for new NHS students. One of the new projects undertaken by the club was the grandmother-grandfather program. Here, each mem- ber had an adopted grandparent, whom he visited at a local old folks home. These elderly folks greatly enjoyed a Christmas party and other forms of campanionship provided. Mrs. schier; Julians and Valiants sponsor. ROW 1. Marianne Ozaki. Steven Bradley. Mrs. Schier 97

KNHS: Keep North High Swinging Sponsored by Mr. John Reynolds, KNHS-FM under-went many chang- es and remodeling in order to be a more efficient radio station. Early in the 1972 year, the sta- tion ' s facilities were drastically remodeled and were ready to go at the beginning of the 1973 year. Because of a pre-planned regular schedule, the members were able to be on the air every day for a cer- tain time period. Among many of the new ideas put forth this year was a new kind of programming which included such things as a science fiction called New Dimensions . Another in- novation was an underground show called Radical Rock . Aside from these many new proj- ects, the KNHS members continued to provide sports coverage and music to eat by.
