Charlie Schrader tips the ball away from an ooposing player. lnexperience and size was the downfall of the J.V. cagers this year as they finished with a 6 win-8 loss record in league play. The Saxon team pulled two close ones out of the hat against Mira Costa, beating the Micohi J.V.'s in the final seconds 51 to 50 and 49 to 48- Inglewood proved to be about an even match for the 11-man Saxon team as each team won a game - the first to the Saxons, 50 to 48, and the second to the Centinnels 53-47. Morningside showed too much strength for the J.V.'s as they won two straight, 46 to 37 and 62 to 43. The Saxons also dropped two to a strong Hawthorne team, 50 to 48 and 57 to 50. Redondo was easily beaten by the North J.V.'s 58 to 37 and 61 to 53, but the Saxons were in turn beaten by Leuzinger, 53 to 41 and 51 to 43. Santa Monica split a pair with the Saxons, 58 to 44 in favor of North, and 58 to 42 with Samohi the victor. Eight of the eleven men on the team will move up to varsity next year, including the high scoring J.V. of the year Bob Donovan, who came through for the Saxons with 120 points. Two North hoopsters steal the ball from a Bolsa Grande player.
