Mrs. Reardon was determined that her daughter Marcia was to marry Sherwin. Nana Reardon, the wise cracking grandmother, was just as determined that Marcia would not marry Sher- win. With the help of Cousin Lily Reardon, Nana succeeded in getting rid of the Parkers and marrying Marcia off to the boy she really loved. The rest of the Reardon family and Essie, the colored maid, helped to make the whole story side-splittingly entertaining. The all-school play, a tradition in North High, is always well received, and this semester the play was considered by the audience to be one of the best. Con- gratulations are in order for the entire cast and those who worked behind the scenes. Thirty

The POLAR BEAR JUNE, 1943 A Cappella Choir The A Cappella Choir consisting of about 50 voices has been kept quite busy this semester. At the begin ' ning of the semester they sang for a forum at the Shrine Auditorium. May 8 the combined choruses of North and East High sang over the radio for National Music Week. The program was over a nation-wide hook-up. June 6 they will sing for baccalaureate services and June 9 for commencement exercises at Roosevelt High School. Miss Ruth Rickards, director of the Choir, is versatile in her musical talent as she not only directs the vocal work and often accompanies these groups, but has re ' cently taken over direction of the Band and Orchestra.
