The POLAR BEAR D | | M JUNE, I9A3 The Senior Will or Won ' t By the Three Stooges We, the Senior Class of June 43 , of the City of Des Moines, County of Polk and State of Iowa, being in sound mind (we hope), do will and bequeath the following articles, items and misdemeanors, to whomever we have decided as a fitting subject for these prizeworthy attainments. BILL FULTON leaves his presidency of the Student Council to any- one who has enough popularity to get it. DELORES GINSBERG bequeaths her nickname of Red to DORO- THY MARTIN, who is already acquainted with the word. EUGENE STRADLEY wills his sood old Hee Haw to WALTER BISHOP, who laughs funny enough without it. DORIS JEAN STEWARD bequeaths that lavish blond ha.r to ANNE ROYAL DUANE NORMAN leaves his little black book to all the boys who haven ' t any, and wish they did. PAT KNIGHT leaves her pep and good sportsmanship to ALICE KIRSTEIN. DICK CLOUD wills that mathematical mind of his to anyone attempt- ing to take trigonometry. JO ANN CARLSON leaves her ability to wear clothes to SALLIE WALROD, who is doing O.K. by herself. ROY OSTREM leaves — — — no kidding! BETTY SMALL bequeaths her many outfits to JOYCE HEEREN, who in heaven ' s name doesn ' t need them. DON HILL and WANDA GLASGOW leave the.r swell romance to anyone who can get along so well together. (?) ALAN THOMPSON and MARILYN HERSELIUS leave their scholastic ability to JIMMY DUNLEY. Now you can sleep all the time, JIM. GRETCHEN HITES gives her gift of gab to NORMA WICKLIFF, who already talks enough. LOVEL ELLIS wills those big brown eyes to F. O., Sr. (Have you noticed?) CHARLENE REEVES leaves her ability to crack her gum good and loud to GLORIA SHORT, who couldn ' t crack it any louder. HAROLD BULLINGTON and BARBARA BATES leave their brain- racking column to any journalism student attempting such a project. JOYCE BECK wills her locker mirror to ELIZABETH RICHMAN. BUD LESAN leaves his all- ' round friendliness to GEORGE BASLER, who seems to be getting along with everyone. NORMA WALTERS leaves her love for a man in the army to BEVERLEE MAYER, but definitely not the man! WANDA WALROD bestows that ability to wear short skirts to GRACIE REYNOLDS, who is doing all right by herself. JACK LITTLE bequeaths his all-round slimness to all the gals who can ' t refuse a second helping. EVELYN COUTS bequeaths her many cute hair styles to BETTY LOU ORR. DICK STRICKLER leaves BETTY OSTREM to suffer along without him — and will she? That ' s the question. HAROLD YEGLIN leaves his sports write-ups in the Oracle to write in the Des Moines Register. Good luck, Yeg! ELOISE MORROW leaves her pleading ways to the students at North who could use them to an advantage. PAUL KAUTZKY and KEITH SCOTT leave those swimming awards to JACK WICHMAN. MARY JOYCE LIND and JACKIE KNIGHT leave their many dancing routines to ARLENE HUFFARD who seems to get along on those dancing feet. CORRINE LUCE and DORIS McCLEARY leave their life-time friendship to any two people who can succeed in such a way. VIRGIL BLACKLEDGE leaves to join his f.ancee— GOOD LUCK! DON HIGGINS wills his outlandish ties to anyone who has nerve enough to wear them. MARJORIE BABER wills the fun she had in home room to anyone who can get along so well with Mr. Besley. MAGGIE WASHBURN leaves CLIFF BLACKBURN ... Too bad, CLIFF! DORIS JOHNSON bequeaths her friendly smile to all the sour- pusses at North. SHIRLEE LEFFLER and DORIS ANN HOLMES leave their loved- ones behind. CLARK ROTH wills his noon movie tactics to all the timid boys at North. PAT OBOYLE, VIRGINIA O ' ROURKE and ELEANOR O ' BRIEN leave those Irish names to help North along on St. Patrick ' s Day. CLARICE MASON and BOB SULLIVAN bequeath their love— Jy romance to anyone who has a heart. MARY ELLEN REESE bequeaths her ability to handle teachers to HOLLIS McCLINTlC. (Need we say more?) MELVIN COX leaves his timid ways to the majority of North High boys. JOAN KELLY bequeaths her dancing abilities to DOROTHY MAX- WELL, who seems to be doing O.K. KENNY BROWN leaves his basketball abilities to DURWOOD PRICE, who has enough baskets to his credit. GLENN PARKER bestows his music abil.ties to NORMAN ALLEN. BOB MATTHEWS bequeaths his positions as chairman of the halls committee to anyone who can fill his shoes. JANE COUCHMAN leaves her singing talents to POLLY McNEAL, who ' s doing all right by herself. WARREN RUDKIN wills his wrestling achievements to BOBBY FONSBURGER, who already has. a good start. JEANETTE BENFER wills her school spirit to anyone who has plenty of patriotism. MARIAN SKAGGS bequeaths her much publicized dimples to LUGENE MORAIN. JACK FREDERICK bequeaths his short locks to PATTY HOHL.
