Seen preparing tor a contest are Glenn Marston, Joy Best, and Bill Young. This year the North High forensic participants excelled in all branches of their activities. They were not only outstanding in individual events, but their teamwork brought honor and distinction to North High. Among many others, our debate team captured two tirst places in B division debate at Modesto and one second place in A division in Fresno. Each year the forensics students take rnany trips to further their education and experience in debate. North High National Forensics League has returned with top honors every time. A Keen competition for first place in the pinata competition highlighted the annual Xmas fiesta of Los Lucientes Del Norte. 304121195 The Spanish Club strives to promote a better understanding of language and in this way, a Mr' Wah Pederson better understanding of nations. Several activi- Mrs. Mello Barr CO-Advisor ties were enioyed by the club and among these CO,AdV,SO, was their annual initiation party to introduce new members. Also, there was the Xmas pifiata party, the annual awards banquet in the spring, and a dance after the NH-EB basketball game. The Spanish Club handled a candy and gum football concession. One of this group's con- tinuous proiects is corresponding with students from Spanish-speaking countries, a project which has proven to be informative as well as en- riching.
