The North High California Scholarship Federation is dedicated to the ideal of encouraging more outstanding scholastic efforts. Mr. Slate and Mr. Kiefer, advisors, aided president Mariiim Stock- ton in guiding the club members through the year's many activities. Members of the club must attain an extremely high scholastic average to continue as a member of this select gro-up. The aim of most is to be awarded lite member- ship in this club. This honor is accorded only a few for truly outstanding academic records. An active organization on campus is the Girls' Athletic Association, With the purpose of increasing athletic enthusiasm among the girls of North High as a primary function, the 'members of this group can often be seen participating in sports after school. This after-school participa- tion does not stop here. lt is also the basis for many of the GAA Play Days held at different times during the year. Some of these sports in- clude: volleyball, basketball, soft- ball, hockey, archery and tennis. This club has also done a splendid iob in selling suckers at noon for the con- sumption of the eaters-in-the-class- room crowd. The enthusiasm snown by this organization has helped to make it a popular club with the more active feminine set.
