The concepts taught in English are used later in other classes and long after grad- uation. The sophomores experiment with grammar and sentence structure, the juniors read and study such novels as The Scarlet Letter and the seniors study English literature and Shakespearean Drama. The English Department is offering a new course this year. The course, Humanities Seminar, is taught by the team teaching method and is open to seniors. Department Head is Miss Jacobson.
