HE staff, made up of the best and most conscientious officers of the corps, has very ably accomplished the task of handling our Battalion. Becoming a stall officer is dependent upon the cadet's ability and Willingness to Work. It is a rank to which many aspire but Which few attain and it is for that reason that We are giving our staif due praise. The officers in the stan' by example and a sincere spirit keep the Bat- talion at the peak of efiiciency. To the present staff fell the job of Whipping the largest Battalion in the history of our school into shape and making it one of the best. The progress made is to be highly commended. It is a pleasant thrill to Watch the staff review the Battalion, for we know that it is in this Way that a check is made on the efliciency of the Bat- talion as a Whole. The stair members are proud of the cadets of the Fourth Battalion for the Way in which they have Worked this year. f' 9 . Hi ' 1

Bl'l,l.OL'H lVIAjoR DL'DI.EY KENNETH LANSING Nlajor Lansing has been in the service of the United States army for twenty-two years and at North Dallas since the beginning of the school. During these years Major has seen all kinds of service in different places. ln his work in Texas, he was Corntnandant of the Garden Nlilitary Academy at San Antonio, organizer of the iirst Texas National Guards tre- ceiving a commission of captain in this coinpanyj and assistant commandant at the 'West Texas Military' Academy. Mqxjor Lansing has served in two wars, He was sent to the border at the outbreak of the Mexican VVar and was commander of a battery in the VVorld YVar, going across with the advance detachment of the -goth Division. After he had taken a course of artillery and in- structed awhile, he was made a regimental adjutant of the ifmth Field .Xrtillery and re- mained with this division during the rest of the war. Nlajor Lansing saw his home shores again after the .-Xrmistice, but he was not stationed in Dallas until IQZI. Since then, every cadet in North Dallas has known his sincerest in- terest and unceasing co-operation. STAFF SERGEANT JOHN BULLOCH It is from Sergeant Bulloch that the cadets receive most of their technical military edu- cation. Sergeant is such an authority in this line that boys taking military training readily accept what he says and believe that what he does not know, isn't true. Most of his knowl- edge has been gained from practical experience, for Sergeant has been in the United States army for sixteen years and during that time has risen to the rank of first lieutenant in the reserves. He has been at North Dallas since the organization of the school, and during that time he has proved himself a capable instructor and has become well liked by every cadet.
