LPN Graduation Friday, April 6. was the highlight for 116 Practical Nursing students at NDSSS. Graduation was held at 1:30 p.m. in Bute Gym. The commencement address was given by Mrs. Agnes Will, executive director of the State Board of Nursing. Bismarck. NDSSS Practical Nursing Department chairman, Betty Heldstab, presented the candidates, and Donald Stevenson, Dean of the Trades Division at NDSSS. presented the graduates with their certificates, pins, and emblems. NDSSS President Clair T. Blikre made the introductions and announcements during the ceremony. Mrs. Steven Lies, Wahpeton, a member of the consultant committee, brought greeting and congratulations. A reception followed the ceremony in Bute Gym. The students recently completed a 25-week affiliation training in cooperation with 11 health care agencies in Minnesota and North Dakota. These hospitals and nursing homes are: Trinity Medical Center, Minot; Dakota Hospital, Fargo; United Hospital. Grand Forks; Good Samaritan Hospital. Rugby; Jamestown Hospital; St. Aloisius Hospital, Harvey; St. Andrew’s Hospital, Bottineau; St. Francis Hospital and Home, Brcckenridgc, MN: Leach Home and Wahpeton Rehabilitation Center. 22 Spring Graduation Graduation At NDSSS The North Dakota State School of Science graduated 1,624 students on May 24. This represented an all-time college record. Commencement exercises were held in the college’s new Physical Education Activities Center. NDSSS alumnus George Skoglund. a native of Rutland and currently vice-president of personnel and administration. Bank of America, San Francisco, gave the address. NDSSS President Clair T. Blikrc conferred degrees and presented diplomas and certificates on behalf of the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education. The processional and recessional organist was Teresa Jord-heim. Kindred. Students chosen to lead the processional were Trivian Peters, Bowman, and Bruce Bokinskie, Wahpeton. Ushers chosen from the freshman class honor students were Mary Gunness, Abercrombie: Ruby Kascman, Wishek; Daniel Kuehn. Breckenridge; Nilla Schatz. Wahpeton; Jolene Syverson. Wynd-mere; and Connie Ten Pas. Litchvillc. Special graduation music included vocal solos by Paul Elling-son, Fergus Falls and Jay Fuchs. Wahpeton.
