I, Herman Williams, do hereby leave to the teachers the peace and quietness they will have when I ' m gone. I, Ann Greene, do hereby bequeath to Joyce Greene my sweet and kind ways, as everyone knows she can use them. I, Freddy Brown, do hereby will to Royce Wiseman, Clarence (Nummy) Holts- claw, and Leslie Brown the jokes I have told them and hope they can pass them on through their next three years in high school. I, Peggy Biddix, do hereby leave my ability to get along with the teachers to Jean Stockton. I, Russell Harris, do hereby bequeath my height to David Vance, seeing he is in bad need of it. We, Doris Faye Byrd and Gale Justine Willis, do hereby will our ability to play basketball and get along with Mr. Johnson to anyone who possesses the know- ledge to fill such positions. I, Roy HoUifield, Jr. , do hereby leave my flirty ways to George Stockton. I, Kay Frances Bowman, do hereby will my brains to Madge Cline and 1 hope she uses them more than I did. I, Decky Swofford, do hereby bequeath my good looks to Jimmy Holtsclaw, in hopes that he can put them to as much use as I did. I, Clara McCall, do hereby will my geometry book to Jack Lonon in hopes he will enjoy it too. I, Lloyd Bates, do hereby leave the lunchroom mop to anyone who wants a job that bad. I, Doris Anne Edwards, do hereby bequeath my school store position to any- one who it will benefit. I, Guy Blankenship, do hereby will to J. D. Stockton my seat in Miss Robinson ' s English class and hope that he will do as good in his work as I did. I, Carroll Jordan, do hereby leave to Ray Byrd my good looks and hope that he might get along with the girls at North Cove better than I did. I, Jimmy Wright, do hereby bequeath my ability to get out of class without getting a zero to Willie Byrd and hope he makes good use of it. We, the Seniors of 1956, do hereby will to the Seniors of 1957 our ability to associate with their classmates. We, the Seniors do hereby leave to the Juniors a year of happiness and success. We, the Seniors do hereby bequeath to the Sophomores three years of hard study. We, the SeniOTs do hereby leave to the Freshmen the hope that their road through high school will be easier than ours. We, the Seniors do hereby leave to the teachers, pleasant memories, sweet dreams, and the hope that their salaries will be raised. As we look back over the sands of time to 1943 we see the primer room of old North Cove School and the faces of many anxious but scared brats as they took their places. Of course they were all outstanding but the ten we remember most were: Lloyd Bates, Guy Blankenship, Freddy Brown, Ann Greene, Russell Harris, Roy Hollifield, Jr. , Carroll Jordan, Decky Swofford, Jimmy Wright, and Herman Williams. Time passed quickly as we sifted through the high first and second grades. In the third grade Peggy Biddix, Kay Bowman, Peggy Brown, Gale Willis, Clara McCall, Doris Edwards, and Doris Byrd slid into place beside us. As the sands of time passed through the timer we slowly made our way up to high school, the time we had waited for so long. Here Mrs. Glovier introduced us into this new change and saw us successfully through the year. Lloyd Bates was our class president. In the tenth grade Mr. Conley was our home room teacher and Lloyd was again elected president. In the eleventh grade we were happy to find the sands of time had brought back Henry Sewell Brown to guide us through the year. We elected a different person as president this year, Decky Swofford. The highlights of this year were selecting and purchasing our rings and planning and giving our banquet. In the twelfth grade we were again glad to have Mrs. Glovier as our guide and sponsor. This year Jimmy Wright was elected as president of the class. We are looking forward to our goal - graduation day with joy and yet with regret We know as the time passes through the timer we will be carried far away from our Alma Mater and will be separated from our cherished classmates.
