Dedication The Senior class of North Central College respectfully dedicates its 1966 Spectrum to Dr. Harvey F. Siemsen, retired vice-president for estate planning. Rev. Siemsen graduated from North Central in 1920, and two years later completed his study at the Evangelical Theological Semi- nary. Following his graduation from the Seminary in 1922, Dr. Siem- sen served in the pastorates of churches in Forreston, Illinois, High- land Park, Illinois, and Freeport, Illinois, and served as a conference superintendent on the former Freeport district. During these periods he also served as a trustee of the Illinois Con- ference of the Evangelical Church, of the Flat Rock Childrenis Home, and on the board of Deaconess Hospital. He was ordained into the ministry of the Evangelical Church in 1922. In addition to his degrees from North Central and ETS, Dr. Siemsen received an honorary doctor of divinity degree from North Central in 1958 and did additional work at Garrett Biblical Institute in Evanston He 1S married to the former Ruth Beyler and the couple have two children Mary Lee QMrs ames Wolf of Cuyahoga Falls Ohio and Donna Mrs Walter Larson of Elmhurst In his 16 years of service to North Central College Rev Siemsen has seen more than S2 million in gifts come to the college He was personally responsible for directing the fund raising campaign for the College Seminary Library the College United Crusade and organized and directed the Centennial Program in 1960 62 In addition to his work in fund raising Dr Siemsen organized the Associates group at the college a friend raising organization and has traveled many thousands of miles covering all but four states speaking before church groups community organizations alumni and friends of the college about North Central and its program When hearing of his retirement the Board of Trustees of NCC ex pressed Its sincere appreciation to Harvey F Siemsen for his faithful ded icated and excellent service making full use of his unique and creative abilities pioneering in fund raising and estate planning traveling throughout the United States and bounds as an ambassa dor of good will on behalf of North Central College attracting many fine potential students for the College while counseling with persons in all walks of life concerning the making of wills of which North Central will be beneficiary in terms of substantial future gifts which perpetuate this record of distinguished service For all that he has done in the past and for in hat he has left to the future we of the present dedicate this book to HARVEY F SIEMP SEN 6 7 D 7 7 , .
