Sleek and sassy, cool and smooth, elegant and chic. So went the reactions to the Fashion Show which was held as one of the Home- coming Festivities. Never before had so many NCCU students looked so cosmopolitan and debonaire. The models were equals to those of the Ebony Fashion Fair, showing the same grace and style. And styling they were. From swimwear to lingerie, from evening wear to leisure wear, from leathers to furs. Wearing mean brims, carrying sleek umbrellas, stepping in platforms, shining and glittering. That was the smoking Eagle Fashion Show.

The homecoming festivities at the Eagle ' s nest were jolted when the Hawks of the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore flew into EAGLELAND and defeated the NCCU football team. The Eagles, in their splendid MAROON GRAY scored first and the crowd sat back anticipating a fulfilling homecoming- victory. However, in the second quarter, the Hawks scored and took the lead. Still fighting for victory, the Eagle team rose and scored again to take the lead. However, for the second time, the point after touchdown was no good. The Eagles scored once again and accumulated a grand total of 19 points. Then the Hawks flew in for two more scores and a grand total of 21 points.
