CRY RAPE Hundreds of students united in protest . . . The news was out that a young coed had been raped as she was re- turning to her dorm from the library . . . Other attacks had been discussed . . . Letters from The Rapists had been received. Central ' s coeds were wondering which of them might be the next victim. As a result of the ca- lamity, real fear developed across the campus. Students got together to demand more security guards, better lighting on campus, and anything else necessary to make the campus safe for Central ' s women. Open visitation was temporarily suspended . . . The State Bureau of Investigation was called in on the situation . . . The men students joined in the protest in order to achieve more protection for the helpless women on campus. The chancellor promised to increase the security force and better lights . . . Students began to relax when it was learned that more security was on its way. After careful investigations of the situation, it was learned that the entire rape situation was a hoax. thirty
