Superintendent March 16. 1936 Fellow Seniors: You have spent twelve years of your life in the public schools. I wculd like each one of you to think of yourself as an operating department. a sales department. a personnel de- partment. a publicity department. a treasury department. and a training department. Over-seeing all these departments is the planning and managing departments. This last department is the one which your school life should have developed. You will succeed in life according to the kind of job each one of these departments will do. If your operating de- partment does a bad job: if your sales department is not selling your services: if your personnel department does a poor job in friendly relation: if your publicity department ceases to function: if your treasury department allows expenses to exceed income: or if your training department fails to prepare you for bigger and better services, your future will look rather doubtful. The training you received in school should coordinate all these departments of yourself to a balanced usefulness. lf it does coordinate, your departments will become a successful com- pany all within yourself and your services will be wanted. My advice to you then on this Commencement Day is. take stock of your different departments. tuning up those which are weak and toning down those which are too strong. and I am sure you. as a Company. will succeed. For future success. H. O. DIETRICH , DR. H. O. DIETRILH
