The School Busses During the past year for the first time the students of Normandy High SchOOl have known the advantages of convenient transportation Through contract the Suburban Bus Company has provided seven busses to carry pupils to and from school each morning and each afternoon The cost to each student was fifty cents per month The privilege was granted only to students living two or more miles from Normandy the price for those living within this limit being two dollars At the end of the year the State paid Normandy a dollar and a half per month for each person living beyond two miles The seven busses carried approximately l4OO pupils per day each bus making two trips in the morning and two in the afternoon Each person had his choice of riding on the early or late bus The excellent service given has been due to the management There was not the winter was exceptionally severe The busses were on time every day except one that delay being due to the ice and snow Not only for daily transportation have the busses been used but on several other occasions Many times during the year their services were donated All seven of the busses were used to take children to the Christmas party at Norwood Hills Country Club and about lSO0 grade school pupils were brought to the May Fete on May l5 They have always been conveniently available Mr Wehking who takes charge of the busses has kept a record for the State showing the attendance of the pupils who have ridden the busses l-le states that there have been less absentees this year even during the winter Through the cooperation of Mr Wehking the teachers the pupils and the Student Council Normandy High School has received convenient transportation this year and will probably receive the same in the future Page Ten the slightest accident all during the year.
