Robert Sharp James EWCDS Head of Industrial Arts Dept. Industrial Arts Diversified Occupations Diversified Occupations is a junior-senior course which offers two credits toward high school gradu- ation. Students alternate on a half-day basis between regular school courses and on the job training. Stu- dents are required to take two academic classes and one other class related to the occupation of their choice. A training schedule is set up for rotating the student from one job to another within the occupation. Students were trained in fourteen different occupations during the year. Training stations were located in Towanda, Carlock, Bloomington, and Normal. This class permits students to train for specific trade while earning learners' wages. They must work at least fifteen hours per week. On March 20, 1958 the students from University High, Bloomington High, and Normal High attended the annual banquet held in their honor. ROW 1: J.
