After all had become acquainted, class elections were held. The victors were Ray Larkin, president, Sheldon Stark, vice-president, and Mina Mayes, secretary. Mr. Bishop assisted by Miss Donham, Miss Mathew, and Mr. Kuster became our sponsors. In football the following boys participated: Paul Heller, Bob Caldwell, John Draper, Harlan Smith, Bob Thorpe, Don Rynell, Clarence Coon, Wallace Denzer, and Winford McElroy. These boys have shown great possibilities for the future. In basketball we were represented on the junior varsity by Harlan Smith, and Clarence Coon. The musically inclined students of the freshman class who played in the band were Joyce Abbey, Norma Patton, Louise Raydon, Romaine Zehr, Bess Wilfong, Paul Heller, Bob Caldwell, Winford McElroy, Kenneth Reeser, Willis Frink,, Eldon Smith, Don Smith, Don Nenne, and Bob Thorpe. Ethelyn Rodgers represented the freshman class on the Pep committee. Shirley Gehrt, our only freshman representative. did a very good job as cheerleader this year. Some of our dramatically inclined people were Ruth Cates, Shirley Gehrt, Ethelyn Rodgers, Joyce Abbey, Marilyn Byerly, Carl Black, Ray Larkin, and Harlan Smith who were in the Fresh- man stunt. In the one act plays given in March were Joyce Abbey, Bob Caldwell, Bob Thorpe, Marilyn Byerly, and Mina Mayes. We now conclude this history of the freshman class as we turn our thoughts to next year when we will become sophomores. i
