EUFHUMUHES On September 3, 1945, 113 supposedly green freshmen entered Normal Community High School. Leading them were Jean Plumb as president, Martha Jacobus, vice-president, and Alice Jayne Casebeer, secretary-treasurer. September 3, 1946, saw the return of ninety-seven sophomores, ready and willing to make life miserable for the incoming freshmen. Getting right down to business, we elected Ray Gehrt as our new president, Hewitt Hafer, vice-president, and Floyd McKinney, secretary- treasurer. When Floyd moved away, Patricia McBurney replaced him as secretary-treasurer. These officers, with the able help of our sponsors, Miss Bopp, Mr. Sharp, Mr. Neuman, Mr. Dotlich, and later Mr. Harris, led us through a successful year. Our more dramatic members displayed talent in the All-School Play, The Doctor Has A Daughter. About half the cast was composed of sophomores. H, In athletics several of the boys made the Varsity in either football or basketball. All did a good job. It's easy to see that we have many future athletics in our class. We are proud to claim ten members of the Honor Society and five members of the Thespians. And what would the band and chorus do without our support? The sophomore class of 1946-47 has been a useful and happy bunch. We are all looking for- ward to next year when we shall return as juniors.
