JHNEUHS This year eighty-six of us returned as juniors, starting the year energetically as upperclassmen by electing as our leaders Bill Linden, president, Jane Callahan, vice-president, Marilyn Tate, sec- retary, and Lois Klump, reporter. Our able sponsors were Mr. Legg, Mr. Diveley, Miss Hoose, Mrs. Galbreath, and Miss Springer. Representatives on the Student Council were Margaret Brown, Varda Warren, Jean Ann Kewley, Louis Siebert, Bill Linden, and Milton Olson. In November we sponsored a very successful all school party, using as the theme a gypsy camp. In an effort to raise money for the Junior-Senior Prom, we sponsored a Stunt Night on the Thursday night before Homecoming. In collaboration with the N Club, we industriously sold candy and soft drinks at all our football and basketball games. The carnival was another project undertaken by us to increase our funds. The General Prom Committee was kept busy making preparation for the bigger and better than ever before Prom. Those serving on this committee were Dick Britt, Margaret Brown, Marvin Dunn, Marjorie Gates, Bill Linden, Jean Ochs, Melvin Scarberry, Marilyn Tate, Sally Veatch, Varda Warren, Cliff Wilcox, Jeannine White, and Lois Klump. We have also been well represented in the athletic department, the music department, the dra- matics department, the Inlcspot Staff, the Reverfie Staff, and the Honor Society. With the able as- sistance of two Juniors, the cheerleaders also did a commendable job. We now eagerly await the coming year when we shall return again as seniors. M Q . 1 2

EUFHUMUHES On September 3, 1945, 113 supposedly green freshmen entered Normal Community High School. Leading them were Jean Plumb as president, Martha Jacobus, vice-president, and Alice Jayne Casebeer, secretary-treasurer. September 3, 1946, saw the return of ninety-seven sophomores, ready and willing to make life miserable for the incoming freshmen. Getting right down to business, we elected Ray Gehrt as our new president, Hewitt Hafer, vice-president, and Floyd McKinney, secretary- treasurer. When Floyd moved away, Patricia McBurney replaced him as secretary-treasurer. These officers, with the able help of our sponsors, Miss Bopp, Mr. Sharp, Mr. Neuman, Mr. Dotlich, and later Mr. Harris, led us through a successful year. Our more dramatic members displayed talent in the All-School Play, The Doctor Has A Daughter. About half the cast was composed of sophomores. H, In athletics several of the boys made the Varsity in either football or basketball. All did a good job. It's easy to see that we have many future athletics in our class. We are proud to claim ten members of the Honor Society and five members of the Thespians. And what would the band and chorus do without our support? The sophomore class of 1946-47 has been a useful and happy bunch. We are all looking for- ward to next year when we shall return as juniors.
