FRESHMEN HAVE A SUCCESSFUL YEAR With its fifty-three members the Freshman Class had a very active year. Under the chairmanship of Judy Engelhart, an all-freshman band was formed consisting of Joan Pettitt, Judy Engelhart, Loretta Nims, Carole Porter, Bob Steiner, Gary Odegaard, Jerry Loreen, and Buddy Carlson. In addition to performing individually at the Sumas Grange, P.T.A., and the Everson Lions Club, they played at the Future Farmers ot America Spring Dance and the Freshman Assembly. On March l8th a Skating party was held at the Sumas Skating Rink. A good time was had by the many students who attended. Ten students made the honor roll. The three highest boys are John Mades, Brian Robinson, and Bob Steiner. The highest girls are Judy Engelhart, Joanne McGillivray, and Carole Porter. Our big event of the school year was the Freshman Assembly presented on April 19th. This included a hilarious one act play and performances by the Frosh band, a vocal solo, saxophone duet, a piano and violin act, some baton twirling, and a tumbling act.
