WE LEAD THE SOPHOMORES 'C7 T SOPHOMORE CLASS OFFICERS: Mr. Stonehouse, Advisor, Roberta Johnson, Secretary-Treasurer, Phyllis McDowell, Council Member, Joe Bronkerna, President, Gene Horn, Council Member: Ronnie Henderson, Vice President. SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY Emboldened by the prospect that soon we too, the class of '57, will really begin in life, ever in quest of more peaceful and more honorable living and with the additional sub-conscious thought that in the following year we will be upper classmen, we began our sophomore year with a new and different attitude. Our year was well-filled with many activities, academic and otherwise. At the N.V.H.S. annual variety show the whole audience was privileged to take, illustratively speaking, an amusing and fascinating Tour With the Sophomores which literally they followed with their eyes across the stage. We had an average enrollment of 66 students throughout the year of which an average of ten were honor students topped by Neal Langley and Donald Almy who had all A grades. As far as royalty, in this age of presidents and secretaries, we had a prince and a princess. Reigning under a iunior queen and a senior king, were Prince Evan Lee and Princess Allene Rogers on Valentine's Day. Outstanding among -the events sponsored by the sophomore class are the two dances, April Showers and Buttons and Bows, which will long be remembered by the many who attended. Never to be forgotten by the faculty or students are the many heckling moments which we mis- chievously gave our teachers who patiently and loyally propounded to us a knowledge which will aid us through a lifetime. Special regards we extend to Mrs. Svidran and Mrs. Alberts who have been a great help to the sophomore girls in Home Economics and Physical Education. In conclusion, we've had a wonderful, never to be forgotten year. ?1 an FQ Nd ,R .'v- i 3 if-J
