USHERETTES: Bette Coleman, Debbie Henegan, Tina O'Reilly, Kathy Holler, Barbara Meyer, Mary Ellen Cross. 34 generous Students Assisi Administration Nolan students have always been well known for their service activities. This year even more areas are open to service-minded students. Senior boys are now trusted with the responsibility of presiding over study halls, pep rallies, and lunch periods, through the new senior official program, The officials are selected by the faculty from a group of volunteers. Junior and senior girls are now able to aid needy students to attend Nolan on scholarships through the summer secretary program. The girls donate their salaries earned by summer work in the school office to a scholarship fund. The Usherettes are another new service organiza- tion at Nolan, set up by the Student Council to usher at all school functions, The Grant Street Program has entered its second year at Nolan. Interested girls and boys donate one or two afternoons a week to teach religion, reading, or math to underprivileged children at the mission center. Other service activities include volunteer work at I St, Joseph s Hospital and in the Nolan Library.

Through this organization parents can give the students and faculty of the school the interest, en- couragement, and financial aid necessary for success in their endeavors. Through interesting and informa- tive programs the parents learn the place of youth in society and how the parents can best aid their chil- dren to achieve their proper place.
