13-Stayed home in bed. The teachers attended the Annual Teachers' Conven- tion in Phoenix, so a holiday was declared. 2l-Today we put away our head gears or helmets for one year after a success- ful season. We beat the Phoenix Indians 19-6. Old man winter is sure coming. Boy, the breezes were mighty cool. Poor Drill Teaml Brrrrrr. 23-Quill and Scroll Initiation: initiates: Alfredo Matiella, Margaret Bird, Bemice Price, Fannie Rochlin, Francisco Gonzalez. Don't know much about it, but l wish I could join now that all the pretty girls have joined. 26-Went stag to the homecoming dance sponsored by the Boosters. Sure a big crowd there, and am I dead tired! Many beautiful prizes given away to the best dancers. Goshl With all that Thanksgiving dinner I had, I don't believe I'll sleep tonight. DECEMBER 7-Homeroom basketball tournament starts. We haven't a chance! 8-Our Papooses lost to the Tucson Cubs 16-14. It was a hard game to lose. 9-Boy, we Seniors actually captured the basketball tourney, and that's not all, I won a date with the girl in the deep sea colored dress. 10-Basketball season starts with a bang! Patagonia succumbs 20-6. Senior Play entitled lt's the Fashion presented. Not bad. The boys dressed as girls in the play could pass for girls with a little determination. A word of thanks to Miss Luz. - I2-We lost to the Saints 46-25. Let no more be said about our hopes. I4--They've started the construction of a new auditorium. I only hope it's ready for graduation. She's got her heart set on graduating there: so do I. 15-Our principal, Lechusa, is elected Masonic head. They cou1dn't have selected a better man. 19-We lose once more. This time to Florence, 27-24. 22-What do you think? I don't have to get to school tomorrow. It is closed for the Christmas holidays. But I do have to get up early and press my monkey suit for the Senior Black and White Ball and the Apache Warcry banquet all in one night. 23-Both enterprises great success. And why not? I took her to both and I'rn afraid we're about to go steady, I hope. IANUARY 4-Some fun over the vacation. School reopens. Guess who is backl Mr. Elliottl 2504:

The game ended in our favor 46-U. 10-The Bisbee Pumas came clown from the hills to tie us in a scoreless game in which we outplayed them on running plays, line plunges, and passes. We gained about l2 times as much yardage as they did. Almost lost her today as she took a liking to the blonde Pumas. 12-In 1492. Columbus sailed the sea. Iudge Duffy and Father Hughes the main speakers of the day. Very nice assembly. She liked it, so naturally I liked it tco. 15-The teachers went on a picnic. Tchl Tchl They claim the students are driving them nuts. Boy, if we keep this us, we'll have them all in an asylum. 16-From one party to another. Now the teachers go deer hunting. None of them seem to be bragging so I guess no one brought a prize home. We'l1 have to teach them. 25-Played Patagonia and beat them 25-O. The game was held after school and only the yell leaders were there. 31-Boy, oh boy! This day is going down as one of my most well spent days in school. Early this morning we, that is a motorcade, accompanied the Apaches to Tucson to watch them lose a hard fought game 7-0. There was a plenty of pep-in fact we nearly yelled our lungs out! NOVEMBER 11-Armistice'Day-no school. We beat Tombstone 18-0 on our home ground. The Drum and Bugle Corps and Drill Team gave their first exhibition. She sure looked like a million. 6-Cox Commercials come down and we beat them 43-39 after two extra stanzas had been played. l 8-We beat Patagonia Lobos 29-18. 10-Turned right around and lost to the Badgers 37-21. Their day will come. My girl shed tears. Notice, I called her MY girl. 15-Lose to the Pumas but that is of little importance as the game should've been ours. In my mind we won it. By the way, the Seniors have their rings. I don't-I gave mine to her. 22--Semester's over. That's one check mark. 29-Tucson beats us again 28-13. But, boy, have we ever got pep! FEBRUARY 3-Track call. They've set up a swell cinder path. All trackmen are limbering up every day after school. Today all were out in full bloom. Patagonia crushed us in a game of basketball 33-13. 5-Apache Warcry inaugurates new system of weekly editions. We weren't for it, she and I, but the rest of the school was. Seniors present first assembly. 9-Any person wishing tc tryout for the Iunior play report to Miss Luz's room at 4:00 P. M. was the notice sent today. Let's wish the Iuniors luck. First aid classes today. 4 ll-Mr. Hendrix, State Superintendent of Public Instruction, was in school today. We tried our best to keep the school in neat shape but it seemed that at the last moment everything was not right and there were scratch papers all over the floors. Tough, eh, what? 12-A little flash to you, my diary, we Walloped the Bisbee Pumas in their own courts 28-15. I sure would have liked to have seen that game. 13- Wil1 you be my Valentine? and many fell for it too on this Valentine's Day. Senior girls sponsored a silver tea. Didn't go. Only skirts allowed. She was there and says that she had a grand time. And while some were sending Valentines, Douglas sent our boys home with a 23-22 defeat. 16-Ioe Garcia won the Warcry prize of 51.00. I picked my girl but missed bY a long shot. Ioe can pick them all right. l9-George Christianson, All-American football player, delivered an address to us guys. Not bad and then again a little boring. 20-Iourneyed to Tucson to watch her and the rest of the Drill Team and Drum and Bugle Corps parade in Tucson's annual Fiesta De Los Vacqueros. The judges took a liking to her and we got three prizes. :SIG
