1 Baldy Edgell is operator of a junk shop on the edge of town. I found Fidel Enciso and Salvador Iury teaching Rosalie Bamey to play Ping Pong on the 32nd story of the La Ville Building. I Misi Espinoza, who starred in college football, is now coaching the Nogalitos Indians. ' Daniel Fimbres, wearing the same uniform and riding the same bicycle, is still delivering Western Union telegrams. N Ernest Pranzen left for Sweden in search of another Garbo, but wound up in Mexico with some cabaret dancer. ' Annie Gaffney finally overcome her shyness and has succeeded Mae West, her chief admirer being Cotton-eye Frazier. Soon after graduating Max Mitchell and Elaine Gildea formed a duet to travel around the country, but Max had to go to Phoenix, so now Elaine is doing a solo tour. Peter Gourdin is still sitting on the city park bench waiting for opportunity to come around the corner. 1 Rodolfo Chico Guerrero became the garbanzo king of old Mexico and mar- ried that girl from Mexico City. 1 Lincoln Hathaway, last of the famous Hathaway polo players, secured a job instructing the 20-30s in donkey polo. A dude captured Mildred Kane and took her back to Boston where she is now the dominator of society. ' Hector Larriva has achieved his desire of becoming a retired owner of one of the largest retail grocery stores in the Southwest. Robert Lee has done everything everywhere-from writing books to manufac- turing rotten egg gas, but now has disappeared. Lucille Lowe and her husband are running a pop-corn stand in Phoenix. Barbara Macdonald did NOT marry her teacher, but has married two or three other fellows since and is still going strong. Tony The Greek Macris is head of the Fox Nogales Theater while Squinkley is still burning up the pavement on Hudgin Street. A Spiro Panas since his return to Greece is still trying to convince the natives that he is Apollo in the flesh. Iune Pitts, trained nurse, is specializing in head treatment-the morning after. Bernice Price, the cartoonist, is still competing with Petty, the Esquire artist. She will probably win out as he is becoming rather old and shaky. xlficc if

it GJ XP THE SENIOR CLASS PROPHECY In 1987, fifty years after graduation, I found myself riding down the streets of Nogales in an outdoor bus. As we approached familiar surroundings, I recalled many memories of bygone years. To my surprise my home town no longer consisted of the one-way street of the old days. Skyscrapers .stood to the right and to the left of me. The high school which I had attended no longer stood. As I glanced towards Walnut Street, I noticed three large buildings-the new school, and an enormous stadium in the place of Herman's store, extending miles around. The stadium, I was told, was the Cactus Bowl, scene of the celebrated New Year's football game between my alma mater and a Mexico City team. During my tour of the school buildings, I stopped in the Hall of Fame, where hung pictures of some seventy odd graduating classes. The guide called my attention to the Class of '37, Tears came to my eyes as memories filled my mind. Alas, I thought, I shall probably never see them again. I was mistaken. I was to see them again, soon: in a dream. While sleeping that night, I recalled our graduation day,-some students laughing, some crying. Ahead of each was an unknown trail which fate bade him follow. After graduation, Ignacio Castro, Warcry Editor of '37, took a course in jour- nalism. He met a young lady who interfered so with his studies that he was forced to leave school. He went from bad to worse and finally jumped into the Santa Cruz River. Delia Carrillo married Mr. Dominguez's little boy Louie two weeks after gradu- ation. They have lived happily ever since. Margarita Condes met a circus clown with whom she fell in love. He promised her a beautiful home but turned out to be a drunkard: so Margarita has taken on his act. Happy Cutting and her bridegroom, Ioe, left for her ranch in Mexico the very day after graduation. They have been neither seen nor heard of since the last report that they were tangled in a revolution dealing with the price of wheat. Out in Patagonia, a big-time politician has just been elected mayor. Who? Douglas Cummings, of course. Pudgie Daniels, who took an interior decorating course, has been struggling for years with the back drops of the stage which was built at NHS in 1937. nl2cc l.-.

W 1 Fannie Rochlin is busy with her old habit-saying no when the answer is yes and vice versa. Following the footsteps of his famous instructor, Coach Ledford, Mike Rosas has become athletics coach at Nogales High School. Though growing a trifle stale, Leonard Sisneros is still training to compete in the 440-yard dash in the 1990 Olympics. Ioe Welty and Iohn Underwood have formed The Welty and Underwood Creamery Company. Ioe milks the cows. Mary Valdez was discovered accompanying that world famous tenor, Antonio Villanueva, at the Metropolitan. Elaine McLaurin is Manuel's latest. Vaca is still, however, unable to settle down. Lillian McClure did NOT marry Chalo but is raising chickens with her husband who is a farmer near Patagonia. Winiired Miller and Betty Wooddell, now happily married, run over to each other's house now and then to compare notes. Result: CHAOS! Theodora Villa established a dress shop and now may be seen at any time of the day telling her grandchildren how to run it. De Wooddell is a rancher as you would suspect but he comes to Nogales to sing a solo in the Episcopal choir every Easter-dragging the little woman behind him. Virginia White still taking care of all the neighborhood kids-including all those of her relatives. And in conclusion a word about our advisor, Miss Margaret Handley, who is now resting on her laurels which she received as owner and manager of the Handley Associated Press, one of America's largest newspaper concerns. The most important branch of her syndicate is the Apache Warcry, distributed weekly from the city of Nogales, Arizona. 74fLafv :I44c 5
