SENNICQR HISTORY In the fall of 1932 some seventy-ddd freshmen entered the portals of N. H. S. cmd organized themselves under the sponsorship of Miss lane Forsythe. Daniel Fimbres was chosen president cmd Winifred Miller vice-president. Even as freshmen these students showed the type of enthusiasm which was to make them one of the most activeqclasses the High School has ever seen. These same students found themselves blossoming sophomores one year later. They seemed destined to change sponsors yearly for this time Miss Elizabeth McClain and Miss Margaret Handley jointly helped to steer them along the right paths. Several members of the class were very outstanding in school activities: lone Marcus, as candidate for the Adobe Queen, and Gonzalo Puchi, as yell leader, were among those most active. The entire class gave a picnic as well as a benefit dance, thus beginning its bank account for the next year which was to feature their Iunior Prom. Iames Frazier led the class as president and De Wooddell as vice-president. 6 In their Iunior year the class really came into its element, its crowning glory being their successful Iunior Prom. Miss Charlotte Luz replaced Miss McClain as sponsor of one-half the class while the other half continued under Miss Handley. Carlos Lodoza was elected president, but as he had to leave, Barbara Macdonald, vice-president, took over his duties during the second semester. 1936-37 found the class organizing as soon as school had started. As the Iunior Prom of the previous year had completely depleted their funds, there was much work to be done. Everyone was ready and willing to lend a hand. This year Miss Handley sponsored the entire class. Money was raised by formal teas, plays, candy sales, rattles, dances, and picture shows. Three outstanding events were: The Black and White Ball, the Valentine Tea and Fashion Show, and the play, lt's The Fashion. Toward the end of the year the class was divided into two groups, the Reds and the Blues in order to raise money for the Senior Ball. Competition was to spur them ony the losing side was to give the winners a party. Fidel Enciso and Virginia White were elected president and vice-president respectively. As a finale to a successful year, the Senior Ball was given the night following graduation with their King and Queen, Ioe Garcia and Antonio Macris, reigning. The Senior Class of 1937 leaves to their successors all the pep and vigor they have shown during their four years in high school. Q,9f l'4J! wl5s. -v1'?'J wmv!! Q, ,844 ,gif-'1i,,..f 0.
