WEST VIRGINIA To the Seniors of 19? »: When I was a senior in high school, I recall my being quite concerned when graduating exercises were referred to as commencement. Why, I asked my- selr, should the culmination of twelve years in the public schools be referred to as commencement? The intervening years have answered that question ror me many times, Just as the vears ahead will answer it ror vou. vou will begin an entirely new pattern of living vhen you are graduated rather abruptly into a world vhich will include several of these adult experiences: earning money to sunport yourselves, deciding how to spend it, continuing your education beyond high school, a full-time Job, membership in the armed services, marriage, parent- hood.
