Thespians were involved in two major pro- ductions this year. The Christmas plays, THE GIFT OF THE MAGI, and WHY THE CHIMES RANG were presented as the Thespians Christmas gift to the school and the community. A ma- jority of the Thespians were also involved in the production of SOUND OF MUSIC. The Thespians kept the NCHS stage busy most of the year preparing and presenting entertainment to the school. Sandy Geike Carol Hahn Debate 1st year speech Speech Team The Talking Tigers took to the road again this year, attending nine tournaments and meeting teams from six states. The seven members of the traveling squad received Superior ratings at every tournament and four members qualified for the state championship tournament at Gillette. Highlights of the year were wins over Sioux Falls, So. Dakg and extremely high ranking for the Oral Interpretation events. During the year the team had the opportunity to meet students from seventy five high schools ranging from Sioux Falls, So. Dakota on the east, to Green River on the westg and from Minot, N. Dakota on the north to Denver Mullen on the south. The team took on all comers from schools the size of Denver to Glenrock, and compiled an overall record to 40 wins and 46 losses. All of this team will be back next year and things look bright for the years ahead. It was an ex- tremely satisfying and eventful year for the entire team.
