Del Patterson was born in Clarks- burg, West Virginia and attend Madison and Central schools in Tulsa. He has a B.A. in Economics and an M.A. in Political Science from North Eastern. He has done graduate work at O.U., O.S.U., T.U., Central State, and East Central State. He has served as President of Northeastern University Alumni Association. He is the TCTA Delegate for the Nimitz faculty, Oklahoma Education Association Delegate, National Education As- sociation Delegate, and past Par- liamentarian for T.C.T.A. Mr. Patterson has also served as State and National Delegate for the National Council of Social Studies teachers and on the Governors Council for teachers' rights. His philosophy is that "all people have an equal opportunity to become unequal". The family: Wife, Rita, an oral health educator for the City-County Health Department holding their daughter, Betty Margaret las her Daddy says, "a wonderful little lady"Ig Shashi, the dog, and Del. DEL PATTERSO FAVDRITE TEACHER UF THE YEAR Chosen by the student body as their favorite teacher, Del Patterson is certainly worthy of this honor. A very serious young man and dedicated to all the principles of good teaching, Del Patterson comes across to Nirnitz students that he is one fellow who teaches his subject well and is their friend also. Students appreciate that he is a hard teacher that expects good discipline and good grades, yet they know he'll listen to them and counsel them whenever needed. He sponsors the National Iunior Honor Scoiety. Five years ago, Mr. Patterson was also voted "favorite teacher" which proves that students continue to recognize his friendship and teaching ability. -I ...
