MR. j. T. CARVELL has taught mathematics for three years at Nimitz. He has a B.S. degree from Northeastern State College and a Masters degree from there in Education. Before coming to Nimitz, Mr. Carvell taught seven years at Cleveland junior High. He likes to do ac- counting as a hobby and he also enjoys chess and fishing. He keeps busy as the youth director and bus driver for his church. He has a wife, Sharon, a boy joe, three years old and a six year old daughter, Marci. MRS. GRETTA CLAYTON is new to Nimitz this year where she teaches Spanish and English. Her B.A. degree is from Oklahoma State University. She has taught seven years, coming to Tulsa from Midwest City. She is married to a medical student and they have a year old daughter, Abigail. Mrs. Clayton enjoys basketball and bridge when time permits. MISS PAT CUTTER has been the girls' physical education teacher at Nimitz for twelve years. She earned a B.S. from Oklahoma College of Liberal Arts and her Masters degree from Northeastern State College. Her hobbies are travel- ing, fishing and photography. Miss Cutter was selected Nimitz Teacher of the Year in 1966-67. MR. jERRY EAST is teaching ninth grade science for the fourth year at Nimitz. Previously he taught at Cleveland for three and a half years. He graduated from Southwestern State College with a B.S. and M.T. degrees. He has done graduate work at Oklahoma State University and Oklahoma University. Besides his wife and their daughters ages nine and three, his interests are bowling and chess. MR. jOHNIE GRAC-G has been teaching industrial arts, woods, and mechanical drawing at Nimitz for fourteen years. Previously he taught at Horace Mann junior High after coming to Tulsa from Berry Hill. Mr. Gragg attended Oklahoma State University and received his B.A. degree in industrial arts and his M.S. degree in trade and in- dustrial education. He has done graduate work at Oklahoma State University. He and his wife, Marie, have a married daughter and three grandchildren. His leisure activities include church work, carpentry, a greenhouse and gardening. MRS. VIOLA GREER came to Nimitz as a science teacher from Cleveland junior High six years ago. She attended Florida State College and holds a B.S. degree from there and a M.S. degree from Columbia University in New York City. She has done graduate work at Tulsa University and Oklahoma State University. Her majors are health and physical education and her minor is in science. She has won many trophies for dancing, a favorite hobby, along with traveling and sports. Mrs. Greer has two grown sons and two grandchildren. She was selected the favorite Nimitz teacher in 1971-72.

IMITZ . 31 ' FACULTY Q MR. MIKE ALDRICH teaches eighth and ninth grade science, and this is his first year at Nimitz. He has a B.S. from the University of Tulsa. He did his student teaching at Nimitz and taught a year at Wilson junior High before returning. He is married to a University of Tulsa librarian. He likes to write music, and his hobbies are the guitar and sailing. MR. jAN BARTLETT has been teaching physical education at Nimitz for seven years after four years at Gilcrease junior High and one year at Clin- ton junior High. He graduated from Central State College with a B.S. degree and he has a Masters degree from Northeastern University. Among his activities he includes the Oklahoma Coaches' Association, hunting and fishing. He and his wife, Sue, are kept very busy by their four year old twins, jon and jeff. MRS. PAT BRADSHAW came to Nimitz this year to teach the Learning Disability classes which she had taught last year at Whitney junior High. Previously she taught in Okmulgee. Her degree in elementary education, special education and learning disabilities is from the University of Tulsa. With her husband and boys, fourteen and twelve, she enjoys hobbies of camping and bowling. MR. RICHARD BRANSON teaches instrumental and choral music. He taught in Commerce, Oklahoma and at Northeastern Oklahoma A. and M. College before joining the Nimitz faculty ten years ago. He majored in vocal and instrumental music at Northeastern State College where he received a B.A. degree in education. He and his wife are parents of a grown son and a married daughter. When golf does not occupy his spare time, Mr. Branson works in an in- surance agency that he owns. sow- Sdn-f

MRS. LILLIAN HARP has a background of fifteen years of teaching experience and came to Nimitz as the homemak- ing teacher this year from McLain Senior High. She holds a B.S. degree from the University of Tulsa and a M.E. degree from Northeastern State College in education. She has done ad- ditional study at Oklahoma State University, Northeastern State College, Oklahoma University, and the Sorbonne in Paris. Mrs. Harp has a married son and a daughter, eighteen. Naturally her hobbies are sewing, knitting, and arts and crafts. MISS PHYLISS HENRY Having previously taught at Cen- tral Senior High and Wilson junior High, joined the Nimitz faculty as a mathematics teacher three years ago. Her B.S. degree is from Langston University. Miss Henry has a second career in the fashion world as a saleslady and model. She likes to read, play tennis, swim and she enjoys music also as a hobby. MRS. IUANITA KING teaches eight grade mathematics and ninth grade algebra. She taught one year at Wilson junior High and this is her eleventh year at Nimitz. Majoring in mathematics, she graduated from the University of Tulsa with a B.A. and also received her Masters degree in guidance from there. She enjoys fishing, bridge, also church, community and family activities. All of these and her four children, three grandchildren and a husband keep her very busy. MISS CINDY LEONARD a French and English teacher, has been at Nimitz two years. Her additional teaching experience has been one year at Byrd junior High, one year in St. Louis and two years in Ethiopia. Her B.A. and Masters degrees are from Washington University and she has also a degree from the University of France in Strasbourg. Her hobbies are water skiing, reading and hob- bits. IMITZ FACULTY MRS. ALLENE HILL during her first year at Nimitz is working with the science depart- ment as a science aide helping the teachers and students with the testing, grading papers, and keeping records. Mrs. Hill and her husband have a son, seven- teen and twins, a boy and a girl who are fifteen. She enjoys the hobbies of tole painting and sewing. MRS. MARY HOLLEY has taught English at Nimitz eight years. She has also taught in Dallas and in Odessa High School and at Southwestern College in Oklahoma. She graduated from Southwestern University in Texas with a B.A. degree. She has done graduate work at the University of Texas. She and her husband have a nine year old son. They all spend much time caring for and train- ing dogs. Her hobbies are reading, tennis, golf and crewel embroidery. Someday she plans to write a book about her teaching years. In 1970-71 she was Nimitz favorite teacher. MR- IOE MEEKS has taught Oklahoma History at Nimitz for ten years. Previously he taught at Wewoka, Oklahoma. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Tulsa and also his Masters from Oklahoma University. He enjoys traveling, reading and listening to music. He also has great in- terest in historic houses of Oklahoma and Europe. MR. IOHN MILLER a seventh and eighth grade mathematics teacher, has been at Nimitz eight years. He is a graduate of Northeastern State College with a B.A. degree. He also attended the University of Utah and has taught three years in Viola, Kansas, and four years at Phillips Elementary School. Mr. Miller and his wife, who teaches at Hoover, are kept busy with three children, seventeen, nineteen, and twenty-one. His hobby is photography and with this interest and talent he has assisted in taking pictures for the yearbook.
