They ran in nine meets and won every one oi them. As you know, the low score wins in cross country running, and the Niles harriers never had over twenty-two points while some oi their opponents' scores were as high as seventy. lt may also be noted in the schedule that we ran only against class "A" schools except in the regicnal and state meets, where we had no trouble in defeating schools in our own class. ln several instances throughout the season the Vikings finished ahead ct all ot their opponents and swept the tield. The most outstanding runner on this year's cross country squad is Clare ence Snyaer. He is the Class "B" Champion oi the State oi Michigan in cross country. This is the second year in succession that he has had that honor. This doesnt mean that he was the only one who tried, as the scores will testify. The whole squad was out with the express purpose oi making this season the best one that Niles has ever had. lnstead oi having one captain as is customary, this year's cross country team has two: Robert Petro and Clarence Snyder. The other members oi the team who won letters are Richard Petro, Glen Van Vtfagoner, Donavon Smith, Charles McCarthy, Earl Koontz, and lohn Lipp. A manager's letter was given to Robert Van Wagoner for his iine work along that line.
