HOME ECONOMICS Girls visit Kansas Home Management students spent two weeks planning an imaginary wedding, paging through bridal magazines looking for the prettiest dress, proper wedding music, and suggestions to reduce the expense of a real wedding. The class visited the Kansas Health Museum in February to supplement a course on Home Nursing taught by Mrs. Betty Baker, school nurse. Home Management was taught by Mrs. Akin and by Mrs. Gordon. Clothing I students, taught by Mrs. Akin and Mrs. Meirowsky, learned the basic fundamen- tals of constructing skirts as the advanced clothing classes studied design and textiles and applied them to construction of a wool suit. Foods classes instructed by Mrs. Gordon learned the nutritional value of foods, and menu planning. They arranged a complete breakfast and ended the year with a tea in the spring. Health Museum IILL BUCKMAN, Sherry Meacham, Karen Meires, and Cin dy Budde Lowe make divinity in Foods class. BARB PHILLIPS, Linda Peterson, and Melody Harrison finish their Christmas projects for Home Management class. 20

RAILROADER Deliver annuals in mid-summer The 1970 Railroader featured coverage of newly organized girl's sports and extra curricu- lar clubs, as well as regular school activities. The staff, headed by editor Nancy Lewis, de- signed its own division pages and the new lay- out. They worked hard to capture in words and pictures an interesting collection of the year's events. A mid-summer delivery made it possi- ble for the staff to distribute the yearbook to 700 students, teachers and businesses, some of which had their company name embossed on the cover. Members of the staff included Editor Nancy Lewis, Roger Goodman, Karen Metzler, Barb Phillips, Linda Peterson, jack Burns, Cathie Trussell, Dana England, Dick Smith, Kim Krue- ger, Curtis Schmidt, Craig Thompson, and Dan Thomas.
