FOREIGN LANGUAGE New French Tea New to the French department this year was Miss Virginia Smith replacing Miss Olive An- derson, who retired at the end of last year. Miss Smith spent two weeks during the Christmas holidays touring Europe. She visited Germany, France, Switzerland, and Luxembourg. Among the tourist spots she saw were the Eiffel Tower, the Arch of Triumph, the Alps, and the Palace of Luxembourg. Foreign Language this year included French I, II, and Ill, Latin I and ll, and Spanish I, ll, and III. Through the use of the lab, filmstrips, tapes, maps, and lectures, students gained a better understanding of the people, customs, and languages of foreign countries.
