A Buzz Ainsworth, hz-arl chu-1-11-ada-r, Connie Taylor, hezul usher- mte, and Sponsor, Miss Loc Paris. shefzeffes Always on duty, the usherettes take their places on the scene at bas- ketball and football games, school plays and musicals. The usherette organization is com- posed of twenty junior and senior girls. Chosen on the basis of scholar- ship, grooming, leadership, person- ality, and poise, the girls are selected in their junior year by the senior usherettes. Final approval is made by Prin. M. D. Morris. Karen Peterson, Judy Jackson, Marilyn Nelson. and Sharon Regis-r. 6l422'Zl2Gb2'Z.S The Newton High cheerleaders led the llailer cry at all football and basketball games, pep rallies and assemblies this year. For five of the pepsters, this was a finale for shouting the victorious cries. The year of 1952-53 was a repeat performance for Pat Morgan and Dick Kitching, also the third year of cheering for Clayton Buzz Ains- worth. Throughout the year, when substitutes were needed, Duane Deschner and Jean Kinser replaced the regular cheerleaders. The gold and black uniforms of the cheer- leaders were changed to White and black. Miss Lee Paris, girl's physical education in- structor, sponsored the group.
