the ones lcnown as 319a, 315,13O, Adviser . Mr. Charles Chase Another indispensable group of NHS worlcers is the Stage Crew. Interrupting rehearsals may seem to be the favorite pastime of these students, but hammering, flashing lights, ringing bells, and energetically moving ladders are essential to prepare the stage for school productions. The success oi Brigadoon and many other shows depended on this crew which gave up so much alter-school time. The Drama Work- shop merged with the Stage Crew this year, showing their efficiency and proving that girls as well as boys are useful and necessary behind the scenes. CREW

Mr. Francis Foster This selected service organization was largely responsible for lceeping a clean and orderly lunchroom while maintaining the traditional freedom in the cafeteria. Ten daily captains plus the chairmen formed the effective lunchroom Board of Review. Students committing lunchroom offences were brought before this board for a just decision. As a result of the Orange Shield and similar organizations, NHS continues to produce democratic and effective leaders. guidance, main, attendance, wav- '

X building 1 and Building 2. Among the many service organizations of our school, the Motion Picture Squad ranlcs high. Large membership has allowed the Frequent use of Newton High's projectors, records, and tape recorders without overworlcing any of the operators.
