Miss Florence Bates The Future Teachers of America has provided a valuable opportunity for students vvho someday hope to be carrying on the tradition ol American educators. This organization is arliliated with the National Education Association and is sponsored by the Newton Federation ol Teachers. During the year, members helped in social settlement houses and visited certain Newton schools, Qther activi- ties in their program included discussions vvith Mr. l'larold Gores and Mr. Raymond Green, as well as with other members of the Administrative Stall, and a meeting as guests ol the Boston University chapter of the Future Teachers ol America.

The international Club has provided students vvith an opportunity to lceep up to date on the nevvs. lts sole purpose was for the benefit ol those vvho were interested in learning more about the trying situations with which vve are laced today. The club vvas by no means staid. Stimulating panel discussions by the members, inter- views vvith eminent speakers, and visits to important institutions were among the monthly activities. Such a club has proved to be not only educational but lull ol lun as vvell. 4 5
