Iwi, , ,L FACULTY HE magnitude of Newton High School requires a large faculty, at present this numbers one hundred and twelve teachers, of whom thirty-eight are men. Nearly all of these have home rooms to supervise. The Faculty is divided into eleven departments which are as follows: Business Education, Science, Home Economics, Social Studies, Latin, Mathe- matics, French, Guidance, Music, English, and Physi- cal Education. Each department has its own head to supervise its worlc and attend to its require- ments. The heads of these departments are, re- spectively, Mr. Maynard Maxim, Mr. Charles B. Harrington, Miss Jeannie B. Kenriclc, Mr. Horace Kidger, Dr. Land, Mr. Charles H. Mergendahl, Miss Gertrude E. Myles, Miss Cora E. Riley, Mr. Haydn M. Morgan, Mr. Samuel Thurber, and Mrs. Grace Kuntz and Mr. F, Ewing Wilson. The Business Education Department lists on its statfz Mr. Carl P. Birmingham, who is also business manager of The Newtonite, Miss A. Hortense Church, Miss Gladys A. Cunningham, Miss Mil- dred Hood, Mr. Frederick K. Hussey, Mrs. Helen P. Johnston, Miss Marion B. McGuire, adviser to the Commercial Club, Mrs. Edith B. Newcomb, adviser of the Knitting Club, Mr. Andrew W. Steinhope, in charge of building two, Miss Alma A. Thomas, Miss Ruth M. Twiss, Mr. William L. Winston, supervisor of one of the bands, and Miss Hazel White, the school bursar. The Science Department is composed of Mr. Richard P.
