Seabee personnel splash the causeways and provide barge ferry services from the amphibious ships to the beach. The causeways, which are 90 feet long and average about 80 tons apiece, can also provide an anchored pier at the beach to which LST's, LCU's and small craft may marry up to. As a result of their unique abilities, the Seabees and their causeways are an in- tegral part of the Mediterranean Amphib- ious Ready Group QMARGQ. LT E.
